RRR members compete in special challenges and races throughout the year to earn badges and awards.
IDITARUN RACE – THE ULTIMATE WINTER CHALLENGE
The IditaRUN Race is a demanding 3 month challenge that begins on January 1 and ends on March 31. Teams of four people (dogs) compete in both monthly prize challenges and for the overall trophy by meeting various mileage and other running related goals. 2021 was the inaugural year and it was an instant hit with 6 teams competing for the trophy:
SUMMER CHALLENGE SERIES
The summer challenges are a favorite amongst the club and one of the most anticipated events of the year. It challenges members to get out there and put in the miles to earn coveted badges. Each one increasing in distance and difficulty. 2020 is the first year the badges were introduced and was immediately loved. Each badge is two parts, a digital badge that members can display as their profile, posts, and stories on social media, and a button they can pin to their clothing and gear.

2020 SPECIAL QUARANTINE CHALLENGES
The April Social Distance Challenge and The May Unlock Challenge were created specifically to motivate RRR members whose enthusiasm and morale were low due to Covid19 quarantining and lack of group runs, and social engagement.

COVID19K VIRTUAL RACES
One of the first virtual races in Rochester at the start the pandemic. Though there have been many other virtual races, RRR proudly dedicated this race and all donations, over $900, to Dimitri House, a local food pantry that helps out cities homeless and youth.
